Dear Dr. Rippel,
My name is Zubeyde. I am a student of Masters of Business Administration – International Business at Lincoln University, Oakland. This is my 2nd semester and I am very excited to be a part of Communication in Leadership and Negotiation.
I am also thrilled because many of us will be a key player in various corporate giants such as Google, Microsoft, Wal-Mart, JP Morgan Chase, etc. Few will be a future entrepreneur and most of all where ever we are; we will be dealing with people in small or big numbers. As any business runs with people and that’s where we will apply our knowledge of business communication, leadership and negotiation skills.
Let me share few things about me starting with my birth place “Turkey”. My country inherited its culture from Ottoman, European, Middle Eastern and Central Asian traditions. Unlike United States or most of the other countries we don’t have states but we have 81 cities spread across 7 regions. I am from Bursa, which is located at north-west of Turkey. Ankara is a capital of Turkey. Istanbul is the biggest city in Turkey. My country has many touristic places and attracts more than 25 million tourists every year, which brings $20 Billion revenue for country. Turkish people are more compassionate about their food and language. We speak Turkish language and eat various food inspired from Europe and Middle East.
Due to various culture and diversity as all other Turkish people, I am also open mind to learn new things and about cultures, which brought me and my sister to San Francisco. My experience in San Francisco is great as I see many cultures coming together and making it best place on the earth to live. First year I felt like a tourist here, after a year this city really took me inside. Every weekend there are many breathtaking events organized, which I love to attend and that’s where I meet lots of new people and make friends as they are very warm, friendly and very lively.
In conclusion, I am determined to pursue a great opportunity after my MBA program and I believe that this class will help me getting more success at my work.
Sincerely yours,
Zubeyde Isik.
